The VOP-3 air cooler is designed to cool water air circulating in closed cooling systems of electric motors and generators, including T2-6-2.
The air cooler is a device made of tube bundles secured with tube sheets. The tubes are attached to the tube sheet by flaring.
The material of the cooling tubes: carrier pipe – 19×1 L96 GOST 617-90, branches and ends – brass. Tube sheets, covers, flanges are made of Steel 3. At the request of the Customer, the materials can be replaced.
What is a finned tube air cooler?
Fin tube air cooler is a heat exchanger that uses air to cool hot fluid, referred to as air cooler. It uses ambient air as the cooling medium, and cools or condenses the high-temperature process fluid in the tube through core components such as fin tube bundles, fans and frames.
Fin tube air cooler Working principle
The working principle of the fin tube air cooler is to exchange heat between the hot fluid in the tube and the air outside the tube. Specifically, the hot fluid in the tube exchanges heat with the air outside the tube through the tube wall and fins, thereby achieving the effect of cooling or condensation. Since the heat transfer coefficient on the air side is small, fins are usually added to the outside of the tube to increase the heat transfer area and fluid turbulence, thereby reducing thermal resistance.

The fin tube air cooler is mainly composed of the following parts:
Fin tube bundle:
This is the core heat exchange component, usually using a light tube with an outer diameter of 25mm, a low-fin tube with a fin height of 12.5mm, and a high-fin tube with a fin height of 16mm. Fins are generally made of materials with high thermal conductivity (such as aluminum) and are wound or inlaid onto the light tube.
Fan:
Provides the necessary ventilation volume to ensure that the air can effectively flow through the tube bundle for heat exchange.
Bracket:
Used to fix and support the entire device.
